Terms of Use

1. The Service

Paper AI Assistant provides document scanning, OCR text extraction, AI-powered summarisation and explanation, notes, and related tools. AI features consume credits; credits are included with subscription plans.

2. Accounts

An account is required to use the App. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use the App.

3. Subscriptions, Billing & Credits

• Subscription plans (Essential, Plus, and Advance — each available weekly, monthly, or yearly) are purchased through your Apple ID and billed by Apple.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel at any time in App Store → Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the App or your account does not cancel a subscription.
• Each billing cycle grants the credit allowance shown on the plan at purchase time. Unused credits do not convert to cash and are forfeited when your account is deleted. Credits already spent are non-refundable.
• Refunds for App Store purchases are handled solely by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Prices are shown in the App from the App Store in your local currency and may change for future billing periods with notice through the App Store.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: upload content that is unlawful or that you have no right to process; attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or reverse-engineer the service; resell or share account access; or initiate fraudulent payment disputes. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Your Content

You retain all ownership of documents and content you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models and we do not sell it. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. AI Output Disclaimer

AI-generated summaries, explanations, and answers can contain errors or omissions. They are provided for convenience only and are not professional (legal, medical, financial, or other) advice. Always verify important information against the original document.

7. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your account and personal data at any time in the App via Settings → Delete Account. Cancel any active subscription separately in your Apple ID settings, otherwise Apple will continue to bill you.

8. Disclaimers & Liability

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the same extent, our total liability arising from your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify features, credit costs for individual features, or these terms. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email, and the Effective Date above will be updated. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the App or its content.
